Betty's Memorial Event
Betty's extensive achievements and accomplishments were celebrated at a memorial event held on Sunday 13th October at Karwarra Gardens Meeting Room.

The League Committee organised everything very well and approx 25 of Betty's closest friends and associates attended. Several people shared their recollections of Betty and paid tribute to her many strengths, highlighting her ability to achieve positive outcomes in so many different sectors covering environment, heritage, town planning etc. Former Councillor Samantha Dunn was our MC for the afternoon and also paid a personal tribute to Betty. It was just wonderful to sit and listen and reflect on all that Betty has worked on and contributed to over so many years.
We then played an interview with Betty, recorded in early 2023, courtesy of the Yarra Ranges Regional Museum, and a video of excerpts from a talk Betty gave at Belgrave Library 10 years ago was shown. Several people contributed photos for the slideshow which followed, and the afternoon was completed with an ample serving of sandwiches and cakes accompanied with a glass or two of bubbly.
The venue, Karwarra Gardens meeting room, was a perfect choice, set amongst the gum trees and native plants, and the weather was warm and sunny.
We all departed feeling it had been the perfect way to celebrate and give thanks for Betty's wonderful life.
